ENTERTAINMENT…. With Oscar season in the air, you’d think there’d be a lot to talk about, however, unfortunately, I have been working my ass off (not literally, it’s still pretty large) and not going to see any movies, oh, except for the most awful one nominated: Lord of The Rings 2 (wonderful BF’s idea…). Now, I’d love to see Chicago, but The Hours looks weak, and Road to Perdition looks slow. Gangs of New York is a must see for me, though, the only one I had interest it, so I’ll root for that flick and let you know how it is when I get around to seeing it. With such little opinion on films I didn’t see, we still have important matters to discuss like the Oscars Gift Bags!!! For every star invited, they walk home with more goodies THAN I OWN. The grand total ads up to $22,000, and they get this crap even if they don’t win. Don’t they have enough already?? Okay, I’m just jealous… Guaranteed goodies include: Vouchers for a $660 teeth-whitening session, a reclining chair worth $2,200, a $1,580 watch and a $440 handbag. And, of course, there will be the few lovely ladies who are truly dressed to impress on the red carpet. My guess is J.Lo and Catherine Zeta-Jones will turn all heads because they are always beautiful and radiant looking. But to be honest the other regulars alway bore me with their pale skin and dresses (Nicole, Reese, Julianne…). TV…. Okay, television is out of control!!! Joe Millionaire is one thing, a funny little joke, but "Are you Hot?" and "Married By America" are shows I can’t even stomach to watch. On top of it, Howard Stern is actually pressing charges against "Are You Hot?" because he claims that it’s too similar to his show. Give me a break!! I’m hooked on "Road Rules/Real World, Battle of the Sexes", however you must be familiar with most characters from the previous shows to enjoy the bickering and back-stabbing. Tune in Monday nights at 10pm on MTV. Afterwards, at 10:30pm, a brand new show literally kicks ass. "Punk’d", hosted by Ashton Kushner, is like candid camera for celebrities. I laughed so hard, I’m telling you, they tricked Justin Timberlake in his own home, Frankie Muniz by stealing his car (the ugly twerp from that "Malcom" show), and so many stars on the red carpet. It’s so hysterical to see the stars so stressed and confused (just like us!!). As for Tuesdays, I’d stick with "American Idol" on Fox and MTV’s "The Real World", although Irulan and Alton are getting old fast. "Friends" is still keeping my attention this season (surprisingly) but Anna Nicole’s novelty has worn off on E! MOVIES THAT DON’T HAVE OSCAR BUZZ… All chicks, please go see, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days with Kate Hudson. She’s so cute in it and it is hysterical, I’m telling you! TRAVEL… I recently went to the Bahamas and I would highly recommend it to anyone. One strong suggestion, if you’re over the age of 20 and don’t have Spring Break Fever, go to a resort called Compass Point or another with privacy. The peacefulness and atmosphere make the trip amazing.
As for activities, jet-skiing is amazing and is only a short drive away from a quiet beach (go to Cable Beach for decent rates and activities). Snorkeling is nice, but not amazing, and there are sharks in the waters. Cab fares are horrendously expensive. Please beware of the drinking water. Even their bottled water is purified tap water and may make you sick. Stick to Perrier or a name you're familiar with. As for flights, try your best to afford a direct flight, because Miami’s airport sucks if that is where you need to connect and it makes the travel so much longer and drawn out. BEAUTY….
